Analysis of problems and faults of valve electric actuator

The special motor for the valve provided by the electrical assembly is a fully enclosed squirrel-cage structure, with short-term intermittent working (10min) self-cooling type. According to the requirements of GB 4942.1, the lower protection level is IP44 and the higher protection level is IP68. Depending on the operating conditions and environment of the valve, the required protection levels are also different. A low protection level will cause moisture or dust and other foreign matter to invade the inner cavity of the motor, and the insulation resistance of the motor will decrease, causing damage.

Improper packaging, transportation and storage:

     The electrical packaging of valves should be rain-proof, moisture-proof, and dust-proof, and the packaging should be firm and reliable. Rainproof measures should be taken during transportation. After arriving at the site, the product should be stored in a ventilated and dry place and should not be stored in the open. It is forbidden to debug or repair in rainy weather. After debugging, all fasteners must be tightened to ensure that all electrical parts are sealed tightly and reliably.

The temperature control protection in the motor fails:

     There is a temperature control switch in the motor. When the valve motor is over-torque or running for a long time, the temperature of the motor rises and exceeds the set temperature value. The temperature control switch immediately cuts off the control loop to protect the motor.
